She is 5!!

Happy Birthday to Grace!

Grace turned 5 last week and for her birthday she got her ears pierced. I could not believe she did it. I thought for sure she would chicken out but she was very brave. She cried after they did it until they handed her a mirror and then she was all smiles. She had a bowling party and was quite the princess.

Mike is working a lot. He has to be to work at 5:00am all week:( He is enjoying taking Grace the the driving range. I think it is great because it is something they can do, just the 2 of them.

Plus it gives Mike an excuse to golf.

Maxton is getting bigger everyday. We think his eyes are going to stay blue. He is rolling from belly to back and almost from back to belly. He is all smiles and is talking all the time.

I am working more than I planned when I took this job but I am really enjoying it. They would like me to go full time this fall but I am not sure if I want to yet.

Thats all! Hope to see you all soon!

Hello

Well with the holiday past it is now time for Graces 5th birthday! I can't believe how big she is getting. Grace will be starting Kindergarten at a Chartered school in the fall. It is a really small class. I think that will be good for her. Then next year after we have moved she can either go to Kindergarten in a public school of go right to 1st grade. Maxton is changing everyday. He is talking and smiling all of the time. I just love sitting and talking to him and watching him smile and coo at me. The house has been on the market for about 1 week and no interest yet. We are having an open house on the 22nd maybe we will get something from that. We will see. We went and saw the Fairlawn and Akron fireworks and Grace loved them. She was so brave! Maxton slept through all of it. We also have a new baby in the family. Christine and Dennis had a little girl named Abigail Marie. She is so sweet and so little. I can believe the size difference between her and Max. And Sam it a great big brother.

Ch-ch-ch-changes!!

My so much has changed in the past couple of weeks. Grace graduated from Pre-K and started a new school, Maxton changes everyday, I started a new job and we put the house up for sale. We are so excited to start looking for a new house. Our realtor told us to try and get rid of some of the clutter when we show the house. I don't have anywhere to put the clutter that is why we need a bigger house.

Grace seems to like her new school. She is making new friends but told me "Mom sometimes I get nervous!" This is a whole new class for her. She was at her other school from the time she was one. She knew all of the teachers and kids so this is a big deal for her. She is doing great!

Maxton is getting to be quite chatty! He will just sit there and talk and smile at you! He is getting stronger and almost ready for the walker. He is still sleeping in our room but he sleeps through the night. I like to be able to look at him in the middle of the night he is so sweet. He smiles in his sleep and even coo's sometimes in his sleep.

Mike is doing pretty good. Working a lot:( But he likes that I work more part time now because dinner is ready when he gets home from work. When I was working we would not eat until 7:30 or so. He is flying solo this weekend, my Dad is have surgery, so maybe he will get to go golfing!

The Graduate

Gracie graduated from Pre-K last Friday. This picture is of Grace and Ryan. They have been in the same class since they were 11 months old! I can't believe that she could go to kindergarten this year. The graduation was very nice. The class presented Miss Kyong with a wagon full of things to send to her son, Daniel, that is serving in Iraq. She was so touched by it that she made all of us cry. My last day was also Friday. I will really miss the teachers and children. However I am really looking forward to working from home and spending more time with the kids and Mike.

We are still here!

Sorry it has been so long since the last post but things have been pretty busy. We met with a realtor about selling the house and now we are going through pre approval (yuck)! We have a new member of the family. A beta fish named pearl. And next week is my last week at KinderCare. I have already started my new job and I love it. I work from home when I can, doing computer work, web design, marketing analysis and creating marketing materials. It is perfect. Grace will be starting her new school the week of June11th and going to a chartered Kindergarten program at Kids Country in Medina in the Fall. Mike spent all day golfing with his friends from college. He played 36 holes then came home sun burnt and fell asleep in the chair. Max is getting bigger everyday. He is smiling and laughing. He loves his bouncy seat and his sister. That is all that is going on in our world. Talk to you soon.

A Day at the Park

Last weekend Grace's best friend Jillian spent the night and the next morning we took all of them to the park. Maxton of course slept through the whole thing, but he was very cute in his fishing hat. He is just starting to smile and react to my voice, I love it. Anyway, the girls were having a great time. It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm. And then Grace spotted a bee. You would have thought there was a swarm of killer bees that were chasing her. She freaked out and refused to leave my side the rest of the time. I just don't know where she gets her irrational fears (ha ha). Its a mystery. Since then she has gotten a little better. She will at least go outside.

This is our last week off before I go back to work:( I am excited to go back and see all the teachers and families but I have really enjoyed being home. We will see how it goes.

What a Stud!!

He is loving his new bath tub!! My son seems to have his days and nights confused a little! Last night I was up with him until 2:30 or so and then he woke up and 3:30 to eat. Thank goodness for my husband because he got up and feed him. Then Max woke up at 6:00 and stayed up. Grace is back at school a couple of days a week and she is having a hard time adjusting but she will get back into the swing of things. Tubs has a doctors appointment tomorrow so we will see how much he weights and we are going to sign up Grace for swim lessons. Busy Busy!

Happy Easter

Well we celebrated Easter by having dinner with our families on Friday and Saturday. Grace was still feeling a little under the weather but her belly seems to be pretty much back to normal now. The Easter Bunny was very good to Grace and Maxton. After the egg hunt we had so many eggs that Grace has been making egg salad for the past 2 days straight. With my maternity leave almost over I look forward to some adult contact. I will be returning to work on May 7th after a fun filled weekend in Toledo for Cinco D Mayo. For those of you who don't know that is the day that Mike and I met. We are going to go out with friends and the kids will be with Grammy and Grampy Mike for the night!! Should be fun!

Double Trouble

I was told that 2 was a lot different than 1 and they were right! It is quite the challenge to get Max on a schedule and to keep Grace on one. I thought that I would be at home and be able to get all the laundry, house work, shopping and cooking done and still have time to spend with the kids. This has not been the case. I am more busy at home trying to keep up than I was when I was working a 50 hour work week. Don't get me wrong I love being home with the kids and spending time with them but I do miss adult contact. Although Grace is pretty close to an adult. Yesterday I would not give her dessert because she did not eat her dinner she looked at me and said "Mommy do you see my face?" She was giving me a dirty look. Then she said " Mommy do you see my foot?" She was tapping her foot at me. Where does she get this stuff?!?! Well the laundry is calling!

On My Own

Well Mike went back to work today and I was on my own. I get frustrated because I want to be normal and be able to do everything that I need to do but I am just not there yet. Max had a great night! He went to bed at 11:00 and woke at 3:30 to eat then slept until 7:30 so that is great. He is a chunky monkey!! He went back to the Dr for a weight check and has surpassed his birth weight and now weights 9lbs 3oz. He seems to be a happy baby. He spends more time awake than I remember Grace doing. He just stares at my face and seems content. Last night we were watching TV and there was a woman talking about what she wanted her boyfriend to get her for her birthday. Grace looked at me and said "He should get her jewelry for her birthday. Then she would be happy!" Like mother like daughter.

WalMart Diva

While Mike and Grace were getting ready to go to WalMart, Grace wanted me to paint her finger nails. So I did. Then she told Mike they could not leave yet because she needed to put her jewelry on. She put on some beautiful earrings, a pearl necklace, a big ring and a bracelet. Now you would think that this would make her fancy enough for WalMart but think again! She came and asked me if she could put a little make up on. I said, ok but just a little. "Ok, I am ready!" She comes in my room where I am feeding Maxton and says "Mommy do you think that this is too much sparkly lipstick? Or do I look beautiful?" I told her she looked beautiful so she put on some deodorant and away to Walmart she went!

Welcome Maxton Michael

Maxton was born Wednesday March 14th at 4:17 pm. He came into the world weighting 9lbs and is 21.5 inches. He is a very sweet baby who loves to eat and loves to be held. Grace is a great big sister and wants to help with everything!! After a short battle with Strep Throat Grace and Mike were both able to come back up to the hospital. I will keep everyone posted and we hope to come home from the hospital Sun night!!

Pearls of Wisdom

At my visit to my beloved Dr Zebari today I found out all sorts of things. The following are just a few:

  • Our little man now weights 7 lbs. Ouch!

  • He loves Middle Eastern Food

  • You should marry for love because Dr's don't make as much money as they used too. If a woman marries someone for his status the man will just age quicker and then just die!

  • He looks younger than a lot of other Dr's because he is not married. But he can't tell them that because their wives will get mad at him.

Just another visit with Dr Z! He is on vaca next weeks and I have received very strict instruction not to do ANYTHING until he is back.!

Do you see the resemblance?

Another Day

My oh My! I went to the Dr yesterday and he said "Ok, you are 35 and a half weeks! Time is flying!" At that moment I could have hurt him. I wanted to say "Yes Dr time is flying! Nothing makes time fly like laying on your left side. Oh the fun I have had!" Grace and I were home today and she was talking to my belly. She keeps telling me that she misses her brother. I tell her that he will be here in less than a month. Christine gave us some sock and caps for the baby and I was showing Grace this little blue cap and she said "He is going to look so precious in that isn't he Mommy?" She is getting so big. She is starting to sound out words and asking how to read. She is such a genius!

As for the little one he is still all over the place. He is now head down as of Monday. I would think he would be running out of room since he is already over 6 and a half pounds. But he is still a wild man in there. He seems to be much more active at night. I am starting to get a little nervous about the c section but I hear that the 2nd one in an easier recovery than the first. I am so excited to meet this little man and see what he looks like and get to see his personality. I hope he has a lot of his Dad in him. Mike is so excited to buy things like footballs and bats instead of Barbies and dresses. The next step is to buy a bigger house!

Blah Blah Blah

I am so bored!!!! Big and bored! The highlight of my week is going to the Dr so he can tell me how tired I look. Grace is getting ornery and a little defiant. Yesterday we were laying there and she asked me "Mommy, how come some boys have boy voices and some boys have girl voices and some girls have boy voices and some girls have girls voices.....?" All in one breath. I think that may be a record for the longest question in the world.
My dreams are also getting a little weird. I think it may be due to all of the lifetime movies and E Television. Because last night I dreamt that I was Anna Nichole's babies daddy!
Well if anyone wants so come and visit please do!!

Snow Bunny

With all of the snow that we got Mike decided not to go into work today. Instead he and Gracie went out and played in the snow. I did not think she would last very long outside in the cold, being the princess that she is. But she was out there for about an hour. When they came inside she was wet and cold, so we snuggled up under the covers and relaxed for a while. She is so funny. Tonight at dinner she was not using her manners AT ALL. So Mike told her that if she did not start eating like a big girl and use her manners that he would make her sit in a highchair. Grace looked at him and thought for a minute and said " Uh Daddy..... We don't have a highchair! It's at Grandma and Grandpa Farris'!" How do you argue with that?

Dr Zebari????

Is this my OBGYN?!?!?!

My Wish

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you’re faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you
And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walking ‘til you find the window
If it’s cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile
But more than anything, more than anything
My wish for you Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to

I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too Yeah, this is my wish
I hope you never look back but you never forget
All the ones who love you And the place you left
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get
Oh, you find God’s grace in every mistake
And always give more than you take
But more than anything, yeah more than anything
This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big

Drama Queens

I love this. As most of you know Grace has a friend named Jillian. Well Jillian's birthday was on Friday. Kathy, Jillian's Mom, and I took the girls to McDonald's for lunch. On the way there I was listening to the two of them talk. The following is the conversation:

Jillian: Grace my friends are missing!

Grace: What are you talking about?

Jillian: I can't tell you.

Grace: What do you mean you can't tell me!?! I am you best friend you can tell me ANYTHING!

Jillian proceeded to tell a story of how her friends Michael, Peter and Wendy were missing. And she was going into the TV to save them.

This was all very dramatic. They are like two old souls talking. I love to sit and listen to Grace when she plays with her dolls. They say if you want to hear what you sound like, listen to your child when she does not know you are.

The Littlest Farris

These are a couple of the pictures that we had done at our 3D ultrasound. It was a really neat experience to see him and feel him move at the same time. I think I see a resemblance to Grace. But we will see. My OB says that he is already 6lbs and we will be having a 9-10lb baby:) Thanks goodness for scheduled c-sections.

Here We Go!

February 10th 2007

I have never used a blog before but due to bed rest I suddenly have a lot of time on my hands. I guess this is a great way to keep everyone updated. Grace seems to be handling my bed rest as well as to be expected. One good thing about this bed rest is that Grace has learned to master Tivo. Talk about seeing the silver lining. She did however make my day by telling me "Mommy you are the best Mommy in my life." Some of the things she says just crack me up!
